Screen Research, one of the world leading manufacturers of state-of-the-art video projection screens for custom home-theater applications, recently introduced its new range of Cinema FCIN1 very large size screens for permanent commercial installations.
With this hand-crafted, innovative, European-built screen solution of superior quality, Screen Research is now able to address and satisfy the demanding needs of the commercial cinemas and auditoriums channel. For the first time, true acoustic transparency is brought to the professional cinema market, thanks to Screen Research.
Our award-winning ClearPix woven acoustic transparent screen materials allow the latest immersive audio systems to finally reach their full audio quality potential, while eliminating completely the necessity for any EQ compensation of the loudspeakers that are placed behind the screen. ClearPix materials are also completely free of any laser speckle effect, thanks to their particular woven structure and composition. Nevertheless, the entire choice of Screen Research fabrics is available with the Cinema FCIN1 screen solution.
Cinema FCIN1 Screen
The Cinema FCIN1 screens come with a special frame studied for great stability and easy fastening operation. A strong elastic fixing system has been developed to stretch the fabric over the aluminum profile. This gives to the Cinema FCIN1 screens a sober but at the same time elegant design.
For the ultimate cinema experience, we strongly recommend to choose our famous THX and ISF certified ClearPix woven truly acoustic transparent fabrics. Due to their patented and high-tech structure with glass particles, ClearPix fabrics will remain perfectly stretched and planar in time.
All surfaces are welded vertically with a new technique that makes them invisible from the audience viewing point.
A curved version of the Cinema FCIN1 screen model is in the last stages of development and it is expected to be available very soon.

Procella’s Best Sound of Show at ISE
If you didn’t make it to ISE 2017 this year, you missed perhaps the best Procella demo yet! Once again, the Procella and Trinnov combination delivered world-class immersive audio performance to critical listeners, over the four days of the show.
We carefully planned the system well in advance and conducted an off-site audio dress rehearsal with the partners in January. As a result, in our custom-built demo theatre, we achieved the Procella Effect: incredibly powerful and dynamic immersive sound, with visitors praising, among many other things, exceptional dialog intelligibility and a formidable low end. By the end of the first day, our booth had become a destination for show attendees, and we played to full houses with standing room only for virtually every demonstration.
The 11.3.10 Atmos/Auro-3D/DTS:X demo system consisted of:
- P815 L/C/R channels biamplified by Procella DA06DSP power amps
- P8 high L/C/R channels on the baffle wall over the screen
- P6V wide channels (one left, one right)
- P6 side surrounds (two left side, two right side)
- P6 back surrounds (one left, one right)
- P5 height channels (three left, three right in an Atmos configuration)
- P5 top channel
- V18 Bass Engine subwoofer, driven by two Procella DA07 power amps
- P15 subwoofers (one left wall, one right wall, driven by Procella DA05DSP power amps)
- Trinnov Altitude32 AL-1624 24-channel processor
- Trinnov Amplitude8 power amplifiers (two, used for all channels not driven by the Procella amplifiers)
- Artnovion absorbers and diffusors for room treatment on all walls and ceiling
- SIM2 NERO 4 4K HDR projector
- Screen Innovations acoustically transparent screen

ISE 2017 booth Procella Audio big succés
A week after the ISE 2017 it’s time to recap what has happened in Amsterdam at the RAI. It was one of our most successful shows so far at the ISE. We had ”as said by our visitors” the best demo, however this raises the bar for next year… (6-9 februari 2018) but we will definitely amaze you again next year! Thank you very much for sharing this all on Social Media. On the right the ”redesigned” P6V, comes now with 10×10 VESA mounting and a cover that completely covers the front so it will look much better in a home theater or living room environment.
Demoroom dimensions 5x7x4M in a 11.3.10 3D immersive sound setup. In short we used: P815, P8, P6V, P6, P5, P15 and the might V18 our new dual 18inch in a V configuration subwoofer!

The show is just a week away! Come to booth 5 – U72 to experience ISE’s most powerful immersive audio demo. With partners Trinnov Audio, Artnovion, SIM2 and our UK distributor Invision, our 11.3.10 channel system is crafted to deliver the best sound at the show.
You’ll ge
t your first chance to hear the 137 dB Bass Engine V18 active subwoofer. The LCRs are baffle-wall mounted P815s, the high LCRs are P8s, and the bed layer speakers are P6Vs and P6s. All overhead speakers are P5s. Amplification is a mix of Procella DA-06DSP, DA-05DSP, and Trinnov Amplitude8 power amplifiers. The Trinnov Altitude32 surround processor is the heart of the system, the only consumer processor capable of rendering more than 12 discrete Atmos channels. 4K UHD images will be delivered by SIM2’s incredible NERO4 projector.
The purpose-built room was designed by our good friend Ingemar Ohlsson of Audio Data Lab, and the room treatments are by Artnovion. Gerard Brouwer of Home Cinema Projects has managed the complex project.

Trinnov to exhibit at ISE 2017
January 25th 2017 – Within 3 years, the French manufacturer Trinnov Audio has established the leading position in the High-End Home Theater market thanks to its flagship, multiple-award-winning product Altitude32, acclaimed both by press and industry professionals around the globe.
Ahead of ISE 2017, Trinnov announces a strong presence on the show floor. The company will support multiple high-end immersive audio demonstrations. In addition, the company’s CEO Arnaud Laborie will be giving a training session and sharing his latest findings in speaker placement for immersive sound room design.
In booth 5-U72, Artnovion, Procella Audio and Trinnov Audio will be co-exhibiting to demonstrate a high-spatial resolution 11.3.10 system powered by a Trinnov The Altitude32 AV Processor and two Amplitude8 power amplifiers. The demonstration will also benefit from the generous help of Kaleidescape, RTI, Screen Excellence and SIM2 as well as the Swedish acoustic design company Audio Data lab.
At the heart of the audio system will be Trinnov’s flagship AV Processor the Altitude32 in its 24-channel version which will be feeding two Trinnov Amplitude8 and Procella Audio power amplifiers.
The Procella Audio loudspeaker system will consist of 11 speakers at ear-level, 3x subwoofers including the new Procella Audio V18 and 10 overhead speakers to playback all immersive audio formats.
The 4K / HDR content, mostly with 3D audio soundtracks will be played back from a Kaleidescape Strato Movie Player feeding the new SIM2 Nero 4 DLP projector, producing a 160 inches wide image onto a Screen Excellence Enlightor Neo S. The system will be controlled via an RTI automation system.

Atmos Elevated: 11.3.10 ISE Demo
Bringing together global leaders in their respective product categories, Procella and partners Trinnov Audio and Artnovion invite you to ISE to experience the show’s most advanced immersive audio system – our custom-designed 11.3.10 channel system, capable of Dolby Atmos®, Auro-3D®, and DTS:X® playback.
We’re going all out with the 11.3.10 channel configuration:
Start with the massive V18 dual-18 inch Bass Engine active subwoofer (137 dB!), making its debut as the main subwoofer, with P15s used as balancing subs. Baffle-wall mounted Procella P815 speakers will be used for the left, center and right channels, powered by Procella DA-06DSP power amplifiers. Three P8s, driven by Procella DA-05DSP amps, will be used for the high left, center, and right channels. Trinnov Amplitude8 power amps will drive the P6V wide channels, six P6 surrounds, and seven P5 height channels.
The high-channel count of this system (22 discrete decoded channels), is only possible through the use of the Trinnov Altitude32 surround processor, our processor of choice and the only consumer processor capable of rendering more than 12 discrete Atmos channels.
All of the exhibiting partners invested extra time to ensure the success of this year’s demo.
The purpose-built room was designed by one of our long-time partners and friends, acoustician Ingemar Ohlsson of Audio Data Lab in Stockholm. The room’s performance is enhanced and optimized by the engineering team of Artnovion, who designed and provided the room treatments. Gerard Brouwer of Home Cinema Projects (Procella’s Netherlands dealer) managed the project and supervised the room construction. Brilliant and razor-sharp 4K UHD images will be provided by SIM2’s incredible NERO4 projector.

Screen Research New Generation of Reference Fixed Frame Screens with 2-Way Masking (XLR3 and XTR3)
Screen Research has developed a new generation of innovative and technically efficient fixed frame screens with 2-way masking, replacing the previous XLR and XTR models with the new XLR3 (lateral masking) and XTR3 (top-bottom masking) improved screens, offering several new features and top performances at even more competitive prices.
Reference X-Mask XLR3
Features:
- New frame structure with innovative stiffeners anchoring system to ensure stability and fast assembly.
- New sliding masking system more fluid and noiseless when moving, compared to the previous solution used with the older models.
- 2-way masking system with THX certified acoustically transparent masks.
- New reduced gap between masking and fabric to minimize the shadow effect during projection.
- E-Grip fabric attachment system for constant tensioning of the surface, for a simpler and quick install; this feature is now available for the first time in the Reference X-Mask range.
- Optional ultra-quiet ERA INN motor from Nice for the best silent solution (cheaper and superior than the Lutron QS motor).
- Optional leather housing finish from the finest Italian craftsmen (available for screens up to size 160″ of image width).
- For the XLR3 model only, full-closure finish option available for screens up to size 160″ of image width.
- For the XLR3 model only, DécorMask finish option with printed dedicated fabric if image quality is to privilege or with printed ClearPix 2 White fabric if acoustic transparency is to privilege (available for screens up to size 160″ of image width).
- Optional housing removal.
- For the XLR3 model, achievable masked image ratios from 1.33:1 to 2.35:1 or 2.40:1, in sizes starting from 100″ of image width up to 240″ of width (the old XLR model was only available in format 2.40 and up to 210″ of image width).
- For the XTR3 model, achievable masked image ratios from 1.78:1 to 2.40:1, in sizes starting from 100″ of image width up to 160″ of width.
- Available with the entire range of projection surfaces from Screen Research.
