The new generation of products shown at CEDIA Expo is now in production at the Procella factory. Here are the details on these exciting new products. For those of you that didn’t make it to CEDIA, they’ll be on display at the upcoming ISE show in February in Amsterdam.
The P5 has been a huge success, yet there’s no question its bookshelf profile is more suitable for shelf or stand placement than for mounting on a wall. Enter the P5V – the slim and sexy version of the P5. Its softly sculptured enclosure is only 4.1 inches deep, and whether you mount it tall or wide, it looks sleekly at home next to both flat panels and projection screens. This is a Procella speaker you won’t want to hide behind a fabric wall. Its 80 degree circular waveguide means identical sound regardless of how the speaker is mounted.
Whether for main or for surround channels, the P5iW delivers full Procella performance while disappearing into the room decor. Its sonics are identical to the P5 and P5V, using the same drivers in an MDF back box enclosure. Both black and white fabric magnetic grilles are included to fit any environment. Installation is a breeze with Procella’s wing-mounting system. Its input terminals are on the removable front baffle that contains the drivers and crossovers for easy access and service. Like the other P5s, you can wall mount it either horizontally or vertically, and its 80 degree circular radiation pattern is ideal for ceiling mounts. The P5iW replaces the P6iW,which is now discontinued.
Expanding the Procella subwoofer lineup in a slim, compact profile, the P15A has a single 15-inch woofer – the same pro audio driver with 3-inch voice coil found in the dual driver P15 subwoofer. Using a Procella-designed class-D 350 Watt power amplifier, it delivers 119 dB of output at 50 Hz. The P15A provides dealers and end users with a highly useful option, whether for small rooms or for larger theaters where multiple subwoofers are used to balance low frequencies throughout the space.
The P18 has long been the standard for low frequency reproduction. But for some, even the P18 wasn’t enough! For them, we created the V18 Bass Engine. Producing 137 dB of continuous output and a peak output of 143 dB, this is truly the new flagship subwoofer. In a massive enclosure, Procella’s unique V-Loaded driver configuration produces coupling and compression loading between the drivers, resulting in lower distortion, improved transient response, and reduced cone excursion at high SPL. With extension to 18 Hz at high output levels, this is a true subsonic generating engine. Power is provided externally with Procella’s DA-06DSP power amplifier.
Screen Research are introducing, effective immediately, the new MultiPix 5 White 1.6 (M5W) fabric, that replaces the MultiPix 4K White 1.35 (M3W) surface, which is now finished and no longer available.
Any incoming orders for fixed frame screens specified originally with the MultiPix 4K White 1.35 (M3W) fabric will be automatically converted to the new surface MultiPix 5 White 1.6 (M5W), for the same price.
This improved new surface MultiPix 5 White 1.6 (M5W) has the following main characteristics:
· Proprietary MultiLayer™ technology with super-fine grain structure that has no reflective particles and glitter effect
· Higher gain performance (1.6) combined with excellent off-axis colorimetric response
· Designed for 4K and 8K applications and recommended for Active 3D applications
· Compatible with low ambient light conditions
· Resistant front surface with thickness 0.30mm
· ISF certified
· Available with any of the Screen Research fixed screens, including on our masking screens
Kindly note that the new MultiPix 5 White 1.6 (M5W) is not suitable to be used with our motorized screens. In that sense, we are currently testing a similar material but having different thickness for this purpose. A solution is to be expected not before September 2016 and therefore any incoming orders for in-ceiling or on-ceiling screens will have to be produced with the MultiPix 4K Grey 1.3 (M3G) fabric, instead of the MultiPix 4K White 1.35 (M3W) surface.
June 7, 2016 – Trinnov Audio’s Altitude32 becomes the first High End preamp/ processor to support all three immersive audio formats: Dolby Atmos®, Auro3D® and now DTS:X.
Moreover, DTS:X decoding capability is available immediately to all Altitude32 owners who purchased the 3D decoders option, via a simple software update. No new hardware is required, thanks to Trinnov’s proprietary, software-based audio engine.
The Altitude32 is already unique in the world of surround sound processors in that up to 32 discrete channels can be rendered (assuming the chosen surround format supports that many speaker positions). This capability stands in stark contrast to the hard limit of 12 discrete decoded channels imposed by DSP-chip based implementations.
The Altitude32 enjoys unrivaled flexibility and spatial resolution, thanks also to its unique 3D microphone and ability to accurately measure each speaker’s location in three-dimensional space. Combined with Trinnov’s patented 3D Remapping technology, owners of the Altitude32 enjoy a level of seamless, immersive audio that other platforms simply cannot approach.
Introducing the Procella V18 – 10th Anniversary – The Bass Engine!
Why the V18? Because our best customers around the world asked for an even more powerful subwoofer than the P18! Mind you, the P18 sub is one of our best selling products of the last 10 years, and at 133 dB max SPL, the P18 is a pure heavy weight. The Procella V18 crushes in with 50% MORE POWER at 136 dB max SPL, using our proven V-arrangement, as used in the P860 bass engine, the V6.
Placing the two hand-made-in-Italy, studio-quality with neodymium magnets, 18″ drivers in a tight V-arrangement, their output is not only coupled, but also highly compression loaded, resulting in stunningly, shockingly loud, transient and accurate bass, with most of the 3dB more power gain at low frequencies, just where you want it. Bass lovers will choke on the -3dB frequency of 18Hz!
The V18 is not only bigger in output, it is also a physical brute. It gets shipped in it’s own crate, it weighs in at 100Kg and it sits big at 105 x 52 x 67 cm (or 42 x 21 x 27″), so this is not a small, compact or shallow subwoofer like all the other Procella subs. With the V18, we are claiming some real estate! Make space for the bass!
The Procella V18 requires DSP processing in the amplifier, we recommend the Procella DA06 amplifier, one per V18! The Procella V18 is recommended for use in medium/large to very large rooms, together with the Procella P815 or P860 loudspeakers.
Facts:
Cabinet, drivers and amplifiers are all made in Europe.
Assembled and individually QA tested in the Procella Audio factory in Ljusdal, Sweden
Use two pair of 4mm2 or 6mm2 speaker wire to connect the V18 to the DA06

No other publication, or entity for that matter, literally goes to very booth at the ISE show and sees every new product demo’d or launched at ISE in Amsterdam annually – so these are THE BEST of THE BEST.
So, if you are wondering which products were the best at ISE and outperformed the others in their respective categories, this is it: the 2016 Best of ISE Awards. And, if you are a manufacturer who won an award, be proud as you were hand-selected after evaluating every new product shown at ISE in your product category. You truly are the BEST of ISE!
Best HomeAV Speakers: Procella Audio Immersive 11.4.11 Channel Speaker
We’re pleased to announce that Fortress just launched their newly revamped website: www.fortresseating.com.
The new site is now completely mobile friendly and has lots of great new content including numerous product images and installation shots.
Best Demo at ISE:
11.4.11 Channel Atmos/Auro-3D/DTS:X Theater
If you weren’t able to make it to ISE, you missed a powerfully immersive demo! Praised by visitors as the best-sounding 3D Audio demo at the show, the Procella/Trinnov/Artnovion/Image system had 11 base channels, 11 height channels, and 4 subwoofers. With Procella sound quality and a channel count far beyond that of other systems at the show, its imaging and immersion were equally compelling, enabling listeners to evaluate the strengths of each 3D audio format.
In the photo nearby, you can see part of the array of P5 speakers mounted on the four meter high ceiling: for Atmos, two left side and two right side speakers, and for Auro-3D, two speakers for the Voice of God channel. Not shown are the two additional Atmos speakers and the front left, center and right height channels for the Auro-3D format.
Our ability to demonstrate such an advanced system was based on our show partnership with Trinnov Audio and their mighty Altitude 32 processor. In addition to impeccable sound quality, the Altitude enabled us to make demonstrations with content encoded in all three immersive formats: Atmos, Auro-3D, and DTS:X.
Thanks to co-exhibitor Artnovion of Portugal, our demo room was both attractive and well treated acoustically. You can see some of their acoustical panels in the above photo (note that the red diffusers appear orange in the photo because of the flash).
Back to Procella, we showed the full lineup outside the demo room, including a sneak preview of the slimline version of the P5 speaker, which is shown here. Ideal for mounting next to flat panel displays and screens, we’re looking at shipping this speaker later in the year.
With record attendance of over 65,000, the show floor was the busiest ever, and our presentation was made to full houses on the first three days and much of the fourth day. For more on the show, see our rAVe videos describing the 11.4.11 demo system and the Procella lineup.
